Purple Ice Plant
Delosperma cooperi4-inch pot
A vigorous and colorful groundcover, purple ice plant forms a dense mat of succulent green foliage covered in vibrant magenta-purple daisy-like flowers through much of the summer. The blooms open in sunny weather and create a brilliant carpet of color that works beautifully in rock gardens, slopes, containers, and dry borders.
This hardy succulent thrives in full sun and sharply drained soil, where it remains compact and flowers most heavily. It is highly drought tolerant once established and performs especially well in rocky or sandy soils. Excellent drainage is essential, particularly during wet winter conditions in the Pacific Northwest.
