About Green River Nursery
Green River Nursery began in 2023 as a natural extension of something we had been doing for years - growing, collecting, and propagating plants for our own garden. We had recently retired, and wanted to create a small, welcoming nursery where we could create community, share our knowledge, offer high-quality plants at affordable prices, and make some of our favorite and harder-to-find varieties available to other gardeners.
What makes Green River Nursery unique is its intentionally small scale and personal feel. We grow many of our plants ourselves from seed, divisions, plugs, and cuttings, and we also bring in carefully selected plants from local wholesale nurseries. Our focus is on quality, value, and plants that perform well in Pacific Northwest gardens. We love PNW natives.
The nursery is located on the 6+ acre property we moved to in 2020, a beautiful setting with a long history. The house was built in 1981 by Harry and Judy Berryman on land that had been in their family since the mid-1940s. Today, the property includes mature garden spaces, natural woodland, and the working areas that support the nursery.
While we think of Green River Nursery as a neighborhood nursery, we are always excited to welcome both local customers and visitors from across the Puget Sound. We love helping people find the right plants, sharing what we know, and creating a place that feels friendly, relaxed, and worth returning to throughout the season.
