A tough and cheerful groundcover, golden ice plant forms a dense mat of succulent green foliage covered in bright golden-yellow daisy-like flowers in late spring to early summer. The vivid blooms nearly blanket the plant when in peak flower, creating a sunny, eye-catching display in rock gardens, containers, and along borders.
 
This low-maintenance succulent thrives in full sun and sharply drained soil, where it develops the best flowering and remains compact. It is highly drought tolerant once established and performs especially well in rocky or sandy soils where many other plants struggle. Excellent drainage is essential, particularly during wet winter conditions.
