Cascade Sunburst Evergreen Huckleberry
Vaccinium ovatum ‘Cascade Sunburst’
1 quart pot
A bright and highly ornamental selection of the native evergreen huckleberry, Cascade Sunburst is prized for its vibrant golden-yellow new growth that gradually matures to deep green. This striking contrast creates a multi-toned effect throughout the growing season, adding light and color to shaded or partially shaded plantings. In spring, it produces small, urn-shaped white to pink flowers, followed by edible dark berries that are enjoyed by both people and wildlife.
Exceptionally well suited to the Pacific Northwest, this native shrub thrives in our climate and natural soil conditions when provided with acidic, well-drained soil and consistent moisture during establishment. It is an excellent choice for woodland gardens, hedging, or as a specimen plant where its unique foliage color can be appreciated. It also responds well to pruning, allowing it to be shaped or maintained at a desired size.
