AKA Bearberry. Delightful low growing groundcover with dark glossy green leaves and putting out pink-white flower clusters in spring, the foliage turns deep red with a bronzy tint during fall and winter. Bright red berries began to appear in the winter almost as if in preparation for Christmas.  Kinnikinnick was the name used by indigenous people for the leaves they smoked.
