Ceanothus 'Diamond Heights'
Ceanothus griseus var. horizontalis 'Diamond Heights'
1 quart pot
Also known as Carmel Creeper, this electrifying and ground-hugging native displays buzzworthy chartreuse and emerald foliage. Spring brings clusters of fragrant, pale-blue, pollinator enticing flowers! Staying a low 6-12 in. high while spreading 4-6 feet wide, it is perfect for areas you need pizzazz while keeping a low profile. Diamond Heights puts up with clay, as long as there's suitable drainage.
This Ceanothus will take full sun with low water in mild, coastal climates; under warmer and dryer conditions, give it morning sun or dappled light. More sun means more sharply chartreuse foliage; shaded plants produce brilliant lime-splotched leaves. First observed in San Francisco's Diamond Heights neighborhood, this lovely introduction hasn't strayed far from home!
