Zebra Plant
Haworthiopsis fasciata
3.5-inch pot

A compact South African succulent forming tidy rosettes of thick, pointed dark-green leaves dramatically banded with raised white “zebra” stripes. Mature plants gradually produce offsets, creating attractive clusters over time. Slender flower stalks may appear in summer, carrying small tubular white flowers.

Zebra Haworthia makes an excellent low-maintenance houseplant and container succulent. It prefers bright, indirect light or gentle morning sun and should be protected from intense afternoon sun. Allow the soil to dry between waterings and keep considerably drier during winter. It is not frost hardy and should be brought indoors well before freezing temperatures in our climate.

  • Tender succulent perennial (Houseplant in the Puget Sound)
  • Zones 10–11
  • Bright indirect light to part shade
  • Grows 4–6 in. tall and wide
  • Low water needs; requires fast-draining succulent soil
  • Excellent houseplant; drought tolerant
  • Small white flowers in summer
