This award-winning variety's deep red flower plumes are among the darkest of all astilbes. Bronze spring foliage gradually changes to dark green by midsummer.

Relatively trouble-free, requiring little maintenance, is heavy shade tolerant, and attracts butterflies but is deer and rabbit resistant. The perfect perennial for a shady border with dappled light.
