Yellow crookneck with vibrant color, gourmet flavor, distinctive ridges, and subtle striping. Tempest's 4-7" fruits have a rich, nutty flavor and pleasantly firm texture. Versatile in the kitchen, it retains its shape, texture, and color through a multitude of cooking methods, from grilling and roasting to pickling and braising. Features an open habit and soft spines for easy harvest. We suggest pairing Tempest with Zephyr, another one of Johnny's varieties bred for its unique appearance and superior flavor and texture.

NOTE: The presence of the precocious yellow gene causes leaves to express yellow color, which sometimes resembles virus symptoms. This is normal, and the plant will grow out of it and performs as expected. USDA Certified Organic.
