Japanese Forest Grass 'Aureola'
Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’
One of the few ornamental grasses that thrive in partial shade. The leaves of this Japanese Forest Grass grow long and tapering, each bright yellow blade lined in lime green. The leaves wave gracefully in the slightest breeze, but the arching flow also gives a sense of movement. Use in a container, in a rock garden, or as a showy ground cover in partial shade and evenly moist, slightly acid soil. The flowers are inconspicuous. Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola' was awarded the Perennial Plant of the Year® by the Perennial Plant Association. Looks amazing crawling over rocks or edges of walls or in containers.
