Hosta 'Fire Island'
Brilliant golden-yellow foliage with a slight ripple along the margin and contrasting wine-red stems. Foliage color matures to chartreuse in summer. Adds a punch to shade containers. A small to medium sized hosta that is hard to miss in the spring garden. Full shade.
New growth fades in intensity as the season progresses and is more chartreuse in summer. Best color is obtained by giving this hosta bright morning sun and dappled shade the rest of the day. If grown in too much sun the leaves will bleach out and burn. Lavender blooms appear in summer and contrast nicely with the yellow foliage. Vigorous grower. Best in full shade
