Dwarf Russian Sage 'Little Spires'

Perovskia atriplicifolia 'Little Spires'
1 gallon pot

A compact form of Russian Sage with airy spikes of lavender-blue flowers held above finely textured, aromatic silver-gray foliage. The upright flowers create a soft haze of color from midsummer into fall and are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

‘Little Spires’ provides the long bloom season and drought tolerance of traditional Russian Sage in a shorter, more upright plant, typically reaching about 2 feet tall. It thrives in hot, sunny sites and lean, well-drained soil. Avoid overly rich or wet conditions, which can encourage floppy growth and reduce winter hardiness.

  • Woody perennial
  • Zones 4–9
  • Full sun
  • Grows 2–2½ ft. tall x 1½–2 ft. wide
  • Low water needs once established; requires well-drained soil
  • Drought tolerant, pollinator friendly, deer-resistant
  • Blooms Jul–Sep
