Salvia 'Hot Lips'
Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips'
1 gallon pot
A playful and eye-catching perennial, Hot Lips sage is known for its distinctive red and white bicolor flowers that often appear as “lips,” though blooms may shift between solid red, solid white, and bicolor depending on temperature. The small, aromatic green leaves add to its charm, and the plant produces a long, continuous display of flowers that attract hummingbirds and pollinators.
This variety thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, where it develops a dense, shrubby habit and flowers most heavily. It is drought tolerant once established and performs well in warm, sunny locations. In cooler climates, it may die back in winter and regrow from the base in spring, benefiting from a sheltered site and good drainage.
