Lavender 'Grosso'
Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso'
With one of the strongest fragrances among Lavenders, 'Grosso' is a vigorous grower which produces exceptionally large and rich, deep violet flower spikes up to 6 in. long, hence its common name of 'Fat Lavender'! A favorite variety for wands or sachets as the flowers retain their fragrance and color when dried.
Evergreen in warm winter climates, this Lavender typically grows 24-36 in. tall in a tight and tidy mound of silver-green foliage that bears the most attractive foliage colors of all the lavenders.
Drought, deer, rabbit, and dry soil tolerant and a real magnet for bees and butterflies! Remove faded flowers to encourage further blooms. Prune to shape in spring after the new leaves appear.
