Tanja Winter Heath
Erica carnea ‘Tanja’
4-inch pot
A compact and vibrant winter-blooming heather, Tanja brings welcome color to the garden when little else is in flower. From late winter into early spring, it produces masses of deep pink to rosy-magenta blooms that blanket the plant, creating a dense carpet of color. Its fine, needle-like evergreen foliage forms a low, tidy mound that looks good year-round, even when not in bloom.
Well-suited to rock gardens, borders, and containers, this hardy heather thrives in well-drained soil and performs especially well on slopes or raised areas where drainage is excellent. It prefers slightly acidic conditions and benefits from a light shear after flowering to maintain its compact shape and encourage fresh growth.
