Dahlia 'Ala Mode'
 
A beautiful and highly variable bicolor dahlia, A La Mode produces lush blooms in swirling shades of coral-orange, peach, cream, and white. Many flowers feature softly blended or checkered petal patterns, giving each bloom a slightly different appearance and an old-fashioned “peaches and cream” charm. The large formal decorative blooms are held on long, sturdy stems, making this variety especially valuable for cutting gardens and floral design.
 
Originally hybridized by the Gitts family of Swan Island Dahlias, A La Mode has remained a favorite for decades thanks to its prolific blooming habit, strong stems, and reliable garden performance. Sources vary slightly on bloom size, with most specialty growers listing it between 4–8 inches, though 6–8 inches appears most consistently supported.
