A dramatic and richly colored astilbe, Black Pearls produces deep burgundy-red flower plumes held on dark stems above glossy green foliage. The feathery blooms create a bold vertical accent and add texture and depth to shaded garden spaces. Its intense flower color and darker stems give it a more refined, modern look compared to softer traditional astilbes.
 
This variety thrives in rich, moisture-retentive soil and performs best in part shade, especially in warmer areas. It is an excellent choice for woodland gardens, borders, and containers where consistent moisture can be maintained. The flowers also hold well for cutting and bring strong midsummer color to shaded plantings.
